Eagles News: Lane Johnson gives update on looming retirement
All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson knows his NFL days are numbered.
Johnson, who turned 34 in May, is entering Year 12 with the Eagles and showing no signs of decline. The 5x Pro Bowler gave an update on his career plans following the Eagles’ final training camp practice at NovaCare.

Realistically? He says 2-3 more years. #Eagles
The Eagles selected Johnson No. 4 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, and he has been one of the best tackles in football ever since. Across his 11-year career, Johnson has been named to five Pro Bowls, two First-Team All-Pro teams, and two Second-Team All-Pro teams.Â
His importance to the Eagles over that span cannot be understated. The team is 14-22 without Johnson in the lineup and 89-53-1 when he plays.
Although Johnson has only allowed five sacks in as many seasons, Father Time waits for no man. Lane is making sure he goes out on his terms.
Lane Johnson: "I plan on finishing my career strong. I think I have a few good years left and I'm going to take it to the limit."
