Temporary QB 1 for the U.S. Flag Football team Darrell Doucette continues to cry about Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes, saying it’s ‘disrespectful’ for NFL players to assume they have a spot on the Olympic Roster
Flag Football is coming to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and the current temporary starting quarterback for the U.S. Team, Darrell Doucette continues to take issue with NFL players like Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes for being named as the ‘faces’ ushering in the new sport.
Darrell Doucette Cry Fest Part 1:
I think it’s disrespectful that they just automatically assume that they’re able to just join the Olympic team because of the person that they are – they didn’t help grow this game to get to the Olympics. Give the guys who helped this game get to where it’s at their respect.
Here’s one of the many problems with what Darrell “Housh” Doucette had to say about Jalen Hurts and the rest of the NFL looking to compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles as members of Team USA’s Flag Football team.
Instead of crying like a little baby, which I guess we should have assumed that would be the case given the fact that he plays Flag Football, he should be welcoming NFL players and realize that adding star power and basic relevancy to the sport would better serve his own career.
How could he be so stupid?
Not to mention, it’s not like any specific NFL player is assuming anything. There’s a reason that Jalen Hurts was the guy in the first promotional video ushering Flag Football into the Olympics.
It’s the same reason that the 35-year old Darrell Doucette, who played collegiate ball at Xavier University before leading the Flag Football National Team to a gold medal at the 2022 World Games while also being named MVP when Team USA went a perfect 7-0 en route to winning the Americas Continental Championship in 2023.
He’s an irrelevant product that no one even knows or cares about. Obviously.
Darrell Doucette played college ball in an irrelevant program and while I’m sure he wanted to play professional football in the NFL, was basically tossed aside and forced to play Flag Football instead.
That’s a shame, but turning around and saying that it’s “disrespectful” to any NFL player, even more so when it’s directed at Jalen Hurts or any star player, is in fact, the only disrespectful thing that’s happened.

Enter Patrick Mahomes, a living legend in the NFL, who for whatever reason, Darrell Doucette decided to comment on in relation to Flag Football.
Darrell Doucette thinks he’s better than Patrick Mahomes:
“At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game. I know he’s right now the best in the league. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him,” said Doucette.
Patrick Mahomes response on X:
This dude. I know money is probably tight since Doucette plays Flag Football for a living but he needs some PR help as quickly as possible. Speaking on any NFL player is just a bad marketing move and he should be embracing guys like Hurts and Mahomes who could not only bring relevancy to “his sport” but also get him the national recognition he so desperately craves.
