“I don’t know. They have to talk to Cashman…” – Juan Soto
Sounds like no to me, right?
Juan Soto trade talks are heating up and the Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly interested
Kidding. However, here in Philadelphia, Phillies fans are all hoping that Juan Soto will join his former Washington Nationals teammates, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper at the end of this season.
Who knows if it will actually happen given the massive contract projections he’s already receiving from top MLB agents, executives, and insiders.
Juan Soto is going to be very expensive.
Back in June, ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel spoke with 28 MLB agents, executives and insiders to get a sense of the type of contract Soto could secure either via free agency or an extension with the New York Yankees.
Only three of the 28 polled believe Soto will get less than $400 million. The majority (17) predict that Soto will sign for more than $500 million, with three respondents saying he will get at least $600 million.
Juan Soto Contract Predictions (June 2024)
I think the $400-$500 million range is probably accurate.
Soto is just 25 years old and for years at this point, has been an elite talent in Major League Baseball. This season specifically, he’s hit 37 home runs to go along with 95 RBI and an astounding 1.035 OPS.Â
