After Zech McPhearson, the original owner of No. 27, was cut during final cut down day, Mitchell swooped right in to claim it. And I must say, 27 is a much better CB number than 30.
When you think of 27, you just think of defensive backs. Malcolm Jenkins, Steve Atwater, and let us not forget one of the most underrated Eagles of all time, Quintin Mikell.
After a solid preseason, Mitchell is expected to start day one for the Birds. He’s projected to be a slot corner for the majority of snaps, but don’t be surprised to see him line up on the outside from time to time as well.
With how much playing time he’s expected to get, we’ll find out how good Mitchell really is very quickly.
