The leadoff blast marked the 13th leadoff homer of the season for Kyle Schwarber, tying an MLB record for the most leadoff home runs in a season with Alfonso Soriano, who reached that mark with the New York Yankees in 2003.

Kyle Schwarber went 7-for-9 with one double, four home runs, seven RBIs, one walk and a 3.022 OPS in the Blue Jays series.

Kody Clemens, who started the game at third base before moving to first in replacement of Bryce Harper, hit an absolute nuke in the top of the second with the Phillies trailing 2-1, flipping the score to 3-2 in their favor.

JT Realmuto added a dinger of his own in the top of the ninth inning, giving the Phillies a much-needed insurance run to finish off a 2-game sweep of the Blue Jays on the road.

On the mound, Cristopher Sanchez was quietly dominant after running into some trouble early. On the day, he tossed seven innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs while striking out seven.

Jeff Hoffman and Carlos Estevez wrapped the game up, combining to throw two innings, allowing zero hits, and a walk while striking out three.

With the win yesterday afternoon, the Phillies improved to 83-56 on the season. They are 8-2 over their last 10 games and have maintained a seven game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the NL East standings with 23 games remaining.

The Phillies trail the Los Angeles Dodgers by just a half-game in the National League and also for the best record in Major League Baseball. More importantly, they extended their lead over the third place Milwaukee Brewers to 3 games in the division standings – holding onto that second seed for the postseason.
