Baltimore Ravens got hit with a Community Note on X after celebrating what they thought was a last-second touchdown by tight end Isaiah Likely
Community Notes strike again. Last night, the Baltimore Ravens opened up the 2024-25 NFL season against the Kansas City Chiefs and lost 20-27 in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens drove down to the 10-yard line and had 1st-and-goal with 18 seconds left and one timeout at Arrowhead Stadium.
Jackson threw two incompletions from the 10-yard line but with five seconds left on the clock, he scrambled out of the pocket and connected with his wide open tight end Isaiah Likely in the end zone.
It was initially ruled a touchdown for the Ravens, putting Baltimore within an extra-point of tying the game and sending it into overtime.

Upon review, however, it became clear that Likely’s toe was on the line, so the play was overturned and ruled incomplete.Â
On ‘X’, the Baltimore Ravens official account jumped the gun and fired off a tweet in celebration of what they thought was going to be a play that put their football team within 1-point of tying the Chiefs as the clock expired. Community Notes however, wasn’t going to let them off easy and corrected their tweet almost immediately.

Social media in general is pretty toxic but having X dish out Community Notes on any and all posts on their platform has proven to be fantastic. One of the more recent examples of Community Notes keeping the record straight happened during the 2024 Summer Olympics after Serena Williams tried to shed negative light on a restuarant in Paris who “refused to seat her and her family” – check that out here.
