Jalen Ramsey agrees to contract-extension with the Miami Dolphins, making him the highest paid cornerback in the NFL (again)
Jalen Ramsey is back on top as the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history…again.
The Miami Dolphins just locked up Jalen Ramsey to a 3-year, $72.3 million contract extension, which for those who struggle in the math department, breaks down to $24.1 million a year, the most any defensive back in the NFL has ever earned annually.
Jalen Ramsey agrees to contract-extension with the Miami Dolphins, making him the highest paid cornerback in the NFL (again)
Jalen Ramsey’s record-setting contract extension comes right after Patrick Surtain II inked his own big deal with the Denver Broncos earlier this week (4 years, $96 million).
Ramsey’s new contract just barely edges out Surtain’s on an annual basis for highest paid in the NFL. This isn’t Ramsey’s first time holding the “highest-paid DB” title. He set the bar back in 2020 with an extension while playing for the Los Angeles Rams.
Ramsey joined the Dolphins last offseason in a trade from the Rams, but his start in Miami didn’t go as planned after he suffered a knee injury in training camp kept him sidelined for the first half of the season. Once he returned, Jalen Ramsey didn’t miss a beat. Despite playing just 10 games, the 29-year-old racked up three interceptions and earned his seventh straight Pro Bowl selection.
Ramsey’s still got it—and now, he’s got the paycheck to match.
