AJ Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles will leave Brazil with a hard-fought 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 1.
After the majority of starters on offense failed to play a single-snap in the preseason, the “rust” of a new NFL season showed for the Eagles as they turned the ball over twice on their first two possessions.
The Eagles trailed the Packers at the end of the first quarter 6-0, before finding their groove in the second, scoring on three consecutive possessions to cut Green Bay’s lead to 19-17 at the half.

AJ Brown caught five of his 10 targets for 119 yards and a touchdown in a 34-29 win over the Packers in Week 1. He led the Eagles in targets while finishing behind Devonta Smith in receptions.
Brown got the Birds rolling to start the second half, hauling in a 67-yard touchdown catch on the second play of the third quarter, which put the Eagles up 23-19.

The touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to AJ Brown was the second-longest of his career and at the time, gave the Eagles a 24-19 lead against the Packers in São Paulo.
The Eagles led the Packers at the end of the third quarter 31-26, thanks to the touchdown from Brown and Saquon Barkley’s third touchdown on the night.
Hurts finished the game with a 80.3 RTG, completing 20-of-34 passes for 278 yards to go along with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also carried the football 13 times for 33 yards, which included a few crucial runs late in the game to guide the Eagles to a hard-fought 34-29 victory in Week 1.
DeVonta Smith hauled in seven receptions for 84 yards, averaging 12-yards per catch – his longest being 25 yards. Dallas Goedert notched four receptions for 31 yards while Saquon Barkley caught two for 23 yards and a touchdown. Outside of that, Grant Calcaterra caught a pass for 11 yards and Kenny Gainwell added another for 10 yards.
While AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith both made their marks, Saquon Barkley stole the show in his Philadelphia Eagles debut with 26 touches, 132 total yards and three touchdowns.
