WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa suffers another scary head injury, leaving Dolphins fans searching for another quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa yet again experienced a scary head injury against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football as NFL and Dolphins fans were left holding their breath as Miami’s franchise quarterback laid on the grass at Hard Rock Stadium.

It happened in the third quarter, with Miami getting absolutely destroyed by the Bills 31-10.

Tua was scrambling to keep the drive alive on 4th-and-4 from the Bills’ 13-yard line. He dove head-first for extra yardage and collided hard with Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who came up for the tackle.

Tua’s head slammed into Hamlin’s midsection, and it was immediately clear something wasn’t right. His right arm stretched out awkwardly, and he grabbed his head with his other hand in obvious pain.

Tua was helped off the field and taken straight to the locker room for evaluation. Head coach Mike McDaniel even gave him a quick kiss on the head as he walked off, a moment that, of course, went viral.

The Dolphins wasted no time confirming what everyone basically knew already — Tua Tagovailoa had suffered a concussion.

This is concerning for a lot of reasons. The 26-year-old had a history of concussions dating back to his college days at Alabama and, most notably, dealt with two serious head injuries during the 2022 NFL season.

There’s no clear timeline for his return, but it’s fair to say both the Dolphins and the NFL will be keeping a close eye on his recovery – assuming Tua Tagovailoa is even able to play football again.

Miami’s backup QB, Skylar Thompson, is the next man up. But fans are already speculating that the Dolphins could bring in a veteran.

When people think “veteran,” the name that always pops up is Tom Brady. Sure, the idea of Brady coming out of retirement (again) to save the day in Miami is a wild one, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors.

Let’s be real, though—Brady stepping in is a long shot. He just kicked off his broadcasting career with FOX, and on top of that, he’s trying to join the Raiders’ ownership group. That’s already causing some headaches in his new gig, and jumping back into the NFL would only complicate things further.

Of course, it’s fun to dream. Brady’s got a home in Miami, and the Dolphins have tried to lure him there before, which famously led to the team getting hit with a tampering penalty. And just imagine—Brady in Mike McDaniel’s high-powered offense with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De’Von Achane?

Yeah, it would be pretty great but I wouldn’t hold your breath. What’s more likely is the Dolphins shifting focus away from Tua Tagovailoa to former Miami quarterback, Ryan Tannehill.

For now, Dolphins fans will have to focus on Tua’s recovery and hope that not only the team can hold it together in his absence but that he can actually continue to play football.

As for Brady? Well, it’s fun to fantasize, but don’t expect him to trade the broadcast booth for a Dolphins jersey anytime soon.
