Mike Missanelli took issue with ‘young media’ members celebrating with the Phillies in the locker room after winning NL East
97.5 The Fanatic host Mike Missanelli was very unhappy that “young media” members were celebrating with Philadelphia Phillies players in the locker room following their NL East clinching victory over the Chicago Cubs at Citizens Bank Park on Monday night.
Old Man Mike Missanelli Ranting About Something:
There’s no one that hates the media more than me. Trust me. I’m constantly dragging anyone in the city of Philadelphia who likes to believe they are in some special type of group and should be the only ones discussing sports.
As for Mikey Missanelli’s co-host, I’m sorry but I have no idea who he is because I’ve never tuned into the show on 97.5 The Fanatic but the let the players have their moment comment from him is basically ranting about the sky being blue. It’s so obvious and pointless to even mention but I guess that’s what you’d expect from 97.5 these days so I’m not surprised.
Not to mention, I have no way in confirming this but he Mikey Miss mentioned his old co-host Jamie Lynch, who apparently runs a podcast on that PHLY Sports network covering the Phillies, wasn’t even in the locker room so who exactly are they talking about?
Maybe the guy known as Connor Thomas was? I have no idea who he is but I’ve heard his name on the radio before. I know it’s hard to pick just one but if you ever tuned into 97.5 (you’re an idiot), he’s probably the guy who talks and you immediately switch stations because he’s saying something stupid?
Well. That answers my question above. However, it’s clear as day that Connor Thomas wasn’t in the locker room. Is this another example of Mikey Miss not having a clue as to what is actually happening on the internet?
We’ve all seen him crash and burn as he fell victim to the Woke Mind Virus on social media and now he thinks that Connor Thomas, who posted that video above for whatever reason, was in the locker room?
Yikes. We’re reaching “old man yells at clouds” territory but sadly, we’ve been here for quite some time. Mikey Miss literally thought The Liberty Line was claiming he stole a “Cooking Papa” show from our guy Ryan Conway after we photoshopped a Twitch livestream on 97.5 Fanatic studio monitors.
As for Connor Thomas I really hope he’s joking because this might be the worst video ever. I wouldn’t be surprised if this single handedly ruined Red October for the entire city of Philadelphia.
But hey, that’s just my opinion ya know?
Maybe people do like the content? That’s really the point here right. My opinion is my opinion. I’m not here to question any content creator or the way they express their “fandom” of Philly sports. I simply do not give a shit and at the end of the day, this is just old media (Mikey Miss) telling the new media to stop being a “fan” and focus on “reporting” blah blah blah.
I watched all the celebration videos posted on social media following the Phillies NL East clinching win against the Cubs. I didn’t see anyone taking the spotlight from the players and I definitely didn’t see a Phillies player worried about anyone in the media in the videos. It’s a completely irrelevant talking point that no one outside of Mikey Miss cares about because he’s some old fart on a failing Philly sports radio station.
Credentials and being the locker room to cover any sports team in 2024 is pretty useless anyways. TLL is a prime example. This website churns out content, engagement, and millions of views on a monthly basis and we haven’t even inquired about credentials because again, they are absolutely pointless in today’s world of “media”.
Why does anyone need to be in the locker room with players? Let alone, the people they do let in the locker room are *checks notes* just a bunch of journalism dorks who pretend they’re hot shit because they have credentials?
And please for the love of god, just let people be fans of whatever sports teams they want. Let them express it however and let “young media” take risks in making content. That Connor Thomas video is fucking horrible but he’s out there grinding it out and trying to make it work.
Now Mikey Miss out of all people has something to say about it? Why?
Again, Mikey Miss is suffering from the Woke Mind Virus and has been out of touch with pretty much everything for years and this take, along with his bald-headed “Reek” on the sidelines, is just a ploy to drive listeners to a radio station that has been getting beat like drum year after year by 94.1 WIP.
As for 94.1 WIP – the fact that you let those idiots run circles around you in ratings is also hilarious because they all stink too. I watched Elliott Shore Parks walk around a tailgate in New Orleans dressed in some cream turtleneck, trench coat, and long pants like he was on his way to a Diddy Party instead of a Birds game in 90+ degree weather and 90+ humidity.
Do you think anyone gives a shit about Eliott Shorr-Parks or is it just because he has a platform on the biggest sports talk radio channel in the city?
I think we know the answer.
Oh and before it even starts…
Since Jamie Lynch was mentioned, we should queue his comment from months ago saying that TLL shouldn’t talk shit on other outlets because “we’re closing doors” to “new opportunities” by “burning bridges”
Talk about a load of shit from a guy who barely has a platform to speak on anything.
Shit like that just shows you how out of touch people are with how the internet works and what people want to read or watch.
If I wanted to buy a studio and start a Phillies podcast and get roughly 100 views per episode on YouTube, I would but that seems like a gigantic waste of time when I can just write something like this, make a ton of money on the ads, and move on to the next post.
The problem is that everyone in Philly likes to “hate post” and engage with Mikey Miss, The Fanatic, and 94.1 WIP on social media. They tune into listen to hosts speak about things they don’t agree with just to argue and criticize.
I do that as well but until everyone changes their mindset and decides to block, unfollow, and listen to something else while driving in their cars, this will continue over and over again.
The circus continues.
