Devin White saga with Eagles takes weird twist following loss to Bucs

Devin White’s time with the Philadelphia Eagles has been nothing short of a rollercoaster, and we’re only four games into the season.

Despite being one of the more high-profile additions in the offseason, White has yet to take a single snap for the Eagles. Initially sidelined by an ankle injury, his status quickly shifted to a healthy scratch after reportedly losing the starting MIKE job to Nakobe Dean.

Most recently, White didn’t even travel with the team for their Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, citing personal reasons.

Here’s where things get interesting: White, who was inactive, received a “random” performance-enhancing drug (PED) test from the NFL following the Eagles’ loss.

White shared the news on social media, calling attention to the unusual timing of the test, only to delete the post later. The NFL’s request sparked plenty of questions — why test a player who didn’t even suit up?

White stirred the pot even more by retweeting a play where his former teammate, Lavonte David, forced a fumble against Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Yes, you read that right. White, now an Eagle, retweeted a highlight of his current team getting burned by his old squad.

While White eventually deleted the retweet after a Buccaneers reporter pointed it out, it left a mark. Whether it was just a lapse in judgment or a subtle nod to his old team, it raised more questions about his mindset and future with the Eagles.

With the Eagles’ defense looking shaky in three out of their four games, fans are left wondering what’s next for White. There’s growing speculation that the upcoming bye week could bring a change, but as it stands, Dean and Zack Baun are running the show at linebacker.

The drama surrounding Devin White isn’t dying down anytime soon, and his future in Philly is anything but guaranteed.
