Mekhi Becton posted the perfect image on X after the New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh

The New York Jets made a major change by firing head coach Robert Saleh on Tuesday following a disappointing start to the season.

Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been promoted to interim head coach as the team looks to salvage its 2-3 season.

Robert Saleh’s tenure ends with a 20-36 record over three-plus seasons and no playoff appearances, despite high hopes coming into this year with the acquisition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers, who tore his Achilles in Week 1 last year, had reportedly maintained a close relationship with Robert Saleh, but speculation suggests that tensions between the two may have played a role in the firing. Despite Rodgers’ injury, the front office expected better results, especially with last season’s 7-10 record fresh in memory.

Not everyone within the Jets organization was sad to see Robert Saleh go. Former Jets offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, made his feelings clear in a now-deleted tweet, sharing a viral meme that took a shot at Saleh.

Becton’s time in New York was difficult due to injuries. After a good rookie season, he injured his knee in his second year under Saleh and missed all of 2022 due to another injury in training camp.

Becton’s shift from left tackle to right tackle caused knee issues, affecting his career with the Jets. After the team opted not to pick up his fifth-year option, Becton joined the Eagles, where he is now the starting right guard, playing in a position that better fits his health and skills.

The Jets, meanwhile, face an uncertain future as they regroup under Ulbrich and attempt to turn their season around.
