Kike Hernandez Gavin Lux HR Celebration

Watch the bizarre Kike Hernandez and Gavin Lux home run celebration that went viral on social media

Kike Hernandez and Gavin Lux were buzzing with excitement as they seized an early lead in the pivotal Game 5 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres.

Hernandez set the tone for the Los Angeles Dodgers, launching a solo home run to left field on the very first pitch from Yu Darvish in the second inning. That powerful swing gave the Dodgers a 1-0 edge in this critical matchup.

However, it was their celebration that really stole the spotlight. After the homer, Hernandez and Lux—who was on deck—celebrated with an unexpected crotch bump, leaving fans questioning their intentions.

Personally, I just look at the video below as “guys being dudes” and a sign of amazing chemistry for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who will now face the New York Mets in the NLCS.

Kike Hernandez and Gavin Lux Celly…?

When in California, right?

Another angle showed that Lux was the one who kicked off the playful gesture, by wagging his finger to Hernandez to come on over and get up close and personal with him.

Of course there was something more to it and Lux delivered the “gay” part we were all searching for given the fact that these two dorks play for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Whether it was a spontaneous act or a pre-planned celebration, one thing’s clear: they might want to retire that particular move if the Dodgers continue their playoff run.

Maybe not though? Who are we to judge? It’s a long plane ride to and from New York and the majority of hotels in the Big Apple are occupied from the folks crossing the border (illegally btw) so maybe these two can continue their “celebration” in the hotel room on the road.

That’s none of my business. Obviously.

Hernandez is known for his clutch performances in the postseason, but this lively celebration with Lux certainly took everyone by surprise.

Hernandez then took part in a postgame interview with FOX’s Ken Rosenthal and asked about what sets this Dodgers team apart from the seven other postseason squads he’s been a part of, Hernandez made sure to check that the broadcast was live before dropping a calculated F-bomb to close out the interview.

Hernandez: “Are we live?”

Rosenthal: “We’re live.”

Hernandez: “The fact that we don’t give a f–k.”
