Lane Thomas delivered a postseason moment to remember for the Cleveland Guardians in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers, launching a game-changing grand slam at Progressive Field.
With Detroit clinging to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 5th, ace Tarik Skubal—who had been dominant throughout the postseason—finally found himself in trouble.
Skubal loaded the bases with one out and then hit José RamÃrez, tying the game 1-1. The stage was set for Lane Thomas, and he came through in a huge way, crushing a grand slam to left field that electrified the Cleveland crowd and put the Guardians up 5-1.
