Oof, madone. That is not what you want to see as a Sixers fan.
Now, a hyperextended knee isn’t an injury in and of itself. It’s just something that can cause a wide array of injuries. Some can take a few days to heal; others can take *gulp* months.
We don’t know exactly what the injury or timeline will be. That’s what the team doctors are for. But since it’s the Sixers, I wouldn’t blame you for assuming the worst right off the bat.
Combine this with Joel Embiid’s continued knee issues heading into this year, and it’s just not the storybook start for the year most fans were hoping for. There’s no need to overreact… but I’m certainly going to.
So, let me be the first to say we had a great season! Now, let’s set our sights on 2025 for the bounceback!!
It was a fun season. #BrotherlyLove | #ThankYou https://t.co/Qzyn2RH8qR pic.twitter.com/HshWBhr9jJ
