Eagles’ Mekhi Becton hates Giants’ ‘shitty stadium’

For years now, we’ve seen what playing at MetLife Stadium does to NFL players. Eagles right guard Mekhi Becton has seen it plenty of times, having played 30 games on the MetLife turf as a member of the Jets.

When asked about returning there this week, the Eagles lineman didn’t beat around the bush. He hates that place.

Mekhi Becton sounds off on MetLife Stadium

“I don’t wanna play in that shitty stadium,” Becton said Wednesday. “It’s bad. Everything is just bad about that stadium. I don’t really like it. I’m just glad I only gotta do it one time a year. Just gotta go in there, do my 1-11 and go home.

“You can just tell the difference like if you was to get on that turf and (then) go on a different turf,” Becton said. “You can tell. It’s a night and day difference in turf. It just feels lifted. There’s a lot of things that doesn’t feel right about that turf.”

Becton has had his fair share of injuries throughout his career. Luckily, none of them came on the MetLife turf.

Nevertheless, it’s not like Becton is alone here. Plenty of players have talked down on MetLife. Year after year, players suffer season-ending injuries playing there. Last year, we saw Aaron Rodgers tear his Achilles in Week 1.

MetLife is actually set to install a grass field for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For the sake of Mekhi Becton, and every other NFL player that has to play there, hopefully they decide to keep it.
