WATCH: Saquon Barkley shows class instead of chasing personal record vs. Giants
Saquon Barkley made his return to MetLife Stadium on Sunday, now donning Eagles green, after leaving the New York Giants in free agency last offseason.
The homecoming was anything but friendly, however, as Giants fans greeted him with boos and burned his jersey in the parking lot.
Barkley, unfazed, responded with an outstanding performance, rushing for 176 yards — just 13 yards shy of his personal best of 189 yards set in 2019.
Late in the game, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni approached Barkley, offering him the chance to return to the field for one more drive and potentially break his single-game rushing record. Barkley, though, declined the opportunity, choosing instead to let his younger teammates take the field.

“It’s all good. You good, let them eat,” Barkley told Sirianni. “It’s all good, I’d rather see the young boys eat.”
With the Eagles comfortably ahead, Barkley could have rubbed salt in the wound against his former team. Instead, he remained on the sidelines as Philly closed out a 28-3 victory, displaying remarkable selflessness and leadership.
