Pathetic: Mets fans think their team should have a parade for losing NLCS

Some things never cease to amaze me, and one of them is the depths Mets fans will dive into to embarrass themselves.

If Grimace, the Hawk Tuah endorsement, and OMG weren’t bad enough, some of these idiots think their team should have a parade for losing in the NLCS.

Serious question — how can you type out this Tweet, read it over, and then feel confident enough to post it? When did losing become acceptable, let alone a cause for celebration? Who are these freaks and why are they sports fans?

I’ve never understood this type of behavior. I love every single sports team in Philadelphia; each of them have taken years off my life because of how much energy I pour into them. The goal is to win it all — every single year for every single team in this city. Second place (or 3rd/4th place in this instance) does not make me feel good, even if the expectations to win it all weren’t realistic.

I wasn’t happy after the Phillies lost the World Series two years ago. It made me want to die. No part of me was thinking, “You know what…. I’d love to go to a second-place parade for this team.” I hated it when they handed out the NLCS rings. I hated when they hung up a banner for winning the Wild Card. Why would I want to spend time remembering how we didn’t win the championship?

It’s this type of delusional bullshit that makes me appreciate my Philly fandom. We hate this sentimental shit. Mostly because we’re miserable people, but that’s besides the point.

Mets fans are just lost. They need to find God and repent for the sins they’ve committed over the past month or so. But hey, at least the Mets team prepared for winning the World Series in Spring Training. Should’ve thrown a parade after that too.
