24 Hours Later, the NBA Deep State issues Joel Embiid a technical for waving a towel on the bench vs Pacers
Joel Embiid hasn’t even suited up for the 76ers this season, but that definitely did not stop Adam Silver and the NBA Deep State from issuing him a technical foul.
24 hours after the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Indiana Pacers, the NBA announced that they would be issuing Embiid a postgame tech without even stepping foot on the basketball court.
The NBA Deep State announced that Embiid was issued a retroactive technical foul for what they considered to be “conduct detrimental to the game” in the final seconds of the 76ers overtime win against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
With just 16.4 seconds left in OT and Philly clinging to a 114-111 lead, Andrew Nembhard stepped to the line for a huge free throw. Embiid was suited up in street clothes on the bench and waving a towel in support of his teammates.
Adam Silver, NBA Front Office didn’t like this from Joel Embiid:

Nembhard ended up missing the freebie, and the Sixers escaped with a 118-114 win. But of course, as with anything to do with Joel Embiid, the NBA wasn’t having any of it and decided to keep their heads way too far up his ass and issue him a tech.
Joel Embiid issued a technical for waiving around a towel on the bench
According to Section V of the rulebook, any player, active or not, can get a tech for “conduct detrimental to the game,” including engaging with the action while not on the active roster. Embiid’s towel wave apparently crossed that line, earning him a rare postgame technical.
I guess you can say that Embiid broke that rule? Regardless, I highly doubt anyone else would have been given the same treatment.
On top of that, the NBA is already investigating Embiid not playing basketball to start the season. There’s an open investigation into Embiid’s playing status, so it’s safe to say that the Sixers and league officials aren’t exactly exchanging holiday cards right now.
Ever since Embiid missed the first three games of the season with what the Sixers are calling “left knee injury management”, the NBA has been on his case and it doesn’t look like they are willing to back down this time around. Adam Silver isn’t even hiding his hate for Embiid and “The Process” at this point and this is just the latest nonsense to add to a laundry list of examples over the years.
They Hate The Process. The NBA Deep State is real. If you’ve been paying attention, you know that already.
