Former football coach Tim Walz doesn’t actually know what football is

Politicians aren’t real humans. Tim Walz, despite painting himself as a down-to-Earth middle of America guy, still can’t pass the ‘is he actually a human’ test.

On Sunday, Walz and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez held a Twitch stream of the two playing Madden together. Since it was Football Sunday, they thought prying Americans away from their TV’s to watch a Twitch stream was a solid plan. Because on Football Sunday, people just play Madden, right? …. Right?

I didn’t watch any of the stream because I’m a normal human being who sat on his couch and watched real football all day. But I couldn’t help myself from scrolling through Tim Walz’s Twitter to see how it went. Cringy Twitter is what I live for and my God did Walz deliver on that front.

In a since deleted Tweet, Tim Walz said AOC runs a, “mean pick-6,” and that he knows how to call an audible on a play.

If you’re reading this, I don’t have to explain to you that a ‘pick-6’ isn’t a play call, and that making an audible on a play is about as basic as it gets for football jargon.

Walz got dragged all across social media for this.

Honestly, I don’t even think he wrote out this Tweet. One of his handlers probably asked ChatGPT what some common football terms are and threw them into the Tweet, thinking us football fans would just see some buzz words and clap like otters in approval.

As a football guy, you simply can’t let this Tweet see the light of day. I’m sure Tim Walz at least saw it before it went out, but again, he’s not a real human. He, like every other politician, thinks saying buzz words will get our votes.

Maybe that works on some, but based on how everyone responded to this Tweet, I’d say the vast majority don’t fall for it.

This pisses me off more than it probably should. Maybe it’s because I’m a full-blown football nerd and the misappropriation of these words is just sickening to me. Or maybe it’s because Tim Walz and the rest of the politicians in Washington continually insult our intelligence by saying/doing things that don’t resonate with anyone because they don’t actually understand how people in society operate. That’s a run-on sentence but hopefully it drives my point home.

Undecided voters should be insulted by this garbage. This is how they’re trying to get your vote — by posting up on Twitch and playing Madden while real football is on. Both parties are guilty of this, to be clear.

Election day is right around the corner, so at least this will all be over soon.
