Sirianni ain’t going nowhere: Gillie Da Kid calls out the Eagles fans who want the coach fired

So Eagles fans, I thought I was in the minority on Sunday in regards to Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. While I totally understand all the outrage from fans for his decision making which led to the team leaving 9 points off the board, I actually found myself understanding his coaching to a certain extent. It turns out myself along with the great Gillie Da Kid are in support of Philly’s head coach and when you take a step back from the situation as a whole, the guy does a few crucial things very well.

All Sirianni does is win. And the players in the locker room clearly are in alignment with his messaging and play hard for the guy leading the charge. But before we get to Gillie’s take, would you believe me if I told you, Nick Sirianni is now top 10 all time in head coach win percentage, passing the great Don Shula. at 67.8?

Or better yet, don’t you think that wanting a 40-19 winning record HC fired after 3 straight postseasons and a Super Bowl seems kind of crazy?

Gillie Da Kid on Nick Sirianni

Let’s be honest—comparing Nick’s 4th-down decision-making to Andy Reid’s infamous clock management might feel like a bit of a stretch. But think about it for a second. Both coaches are winners, no question. Sirianni has brought a high level of success to the Eagles, much like Reid did in his time here (and later with the Chiefs). Yet, both have their own strategic hiccups that sometimes give fans and analysts reason to scratch their heads.

For Reid, it was those crucial moments when the clock was ticking, and it felt like time was slipping away. For Sirianni, it’s those gutsy 4th-down calls that sometimes teeter between aggressive and, well, questionable. But here’s the thing: just like with Reid, you have to take the occasional misstep with the winning record that Sirianni delivers. No coach is perfect, and the alternative? Well, just think about the Chip Kelly days—high risk with far less reward. In fact, no reward at all.

So, maybe Sirianni’s 4th-down decisions are his biggest crutch. But with all the winning he’s brought to Philly, that’s a flaw Eagles fans should learn to live with.
