Philadelphia Union’s rising star Cavan Sullivan has earned a call-up to the U.S. Under-17 Men’s Youth National Team for a November training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Cavan Sullivan joins Jordan Griffin and Jamir Johnson on U-17 Roster

Cavan Sullivan will be joined by two of his Union Academy teammates, Jordan Griffin and Jamir Johnson, giving Union fans plenty to be excited about with the young guns continuing to showcase their skills on the national stage.

The training camp, led by Head Coach Gonzalo Segares, is a key step in preparing for the 2025 Concacaf U-17 Championship in Costa Rica this February, which serves as the qualifying event for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. With 18 World Cup berths under its belt, the U.S. U-17 squad aims to make it 19 as they prepare to face the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Cuba in their qualifying group from Feb. 7-16. Cavan Sullivan’s call-up comes on the heels of an impressive MLS NEXT Pro season with Philadelphia Union II, where the 15-year-old tallied five goals and four assists.

He also made history in the Eastern Conference Championship by becoming the youngest goalscorer in MLS NEXT Pro Playoff history with a stunning long-range goal against Columbus Crew 2. Sullivan will head to camp after Union II competes in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup against North Texas SC, adding another valuable experience to his breakout year.

Alongside Cavan Sullivan and his Union Academy teammates, the U.S. roster features promising talents from across the country and international clubs, including players from Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven, and Liverpool.
