Oz Pearlman, famously known as Oz The Mentalist, recently paid a visit to the Philadelphia Eagles at the NovaCare Complex. A University of Michigan alum, Pearlman has built his reputation by performing mind-bending mentalism acts all across the world.

During his time with the Eagles, Pearlman zero’ed in on star wide receiver A.J. Brown. He asked Brown to focus on the name of his childhood crush, assuring him that this was information he couldn’t have discovered online. After a moment, Pearlman wrote down the name “Fantasia” and revealed it to Brown’s teammates, leaving them all in awe.

As someone who is not familiar with his particular work, I couldn’t help but feel stunned myself after watching this. I’m obviously somewhat familiar with these types of performers or “acts”, but I almost find myself more frustrated with the fact that I don’t understand how they do this, more so than I actually appreciate the presentation itself.

You’ve got to feel for A.J. Brown—getting his childhood crush revealed in front of the entire squad must have been nerve-wracking! Imagine the pressure of standing there, knowing your teammates might go digging on social media for “Fantasia” or, even crazier, that she might reach out after this reveal.

Still, it was all in good fun and made for a memorable team-bonding moment for the Eagles, who have been red-hot on the field. They’re coming off five straight wins and are gearing up for a short week with a crucial matchup against the Washington Commanders, as they fight to keep their lead in the NFC East.
