WATCH: Jalen Hurts trolls Scott Van Pelt after the Eagles huge win over the Commanders, with a hilarious jab
Say whatever you want about how Jalen Hurts started this game, but you can not argue that the guy is a true winner and always seems to deliver when the stakes are the highest. That is exactly what happened in last night’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Eagles and Commanders. In what would be a statement finish from the Eagles as they ended up pulling away 26-18, moving to (8-2) on the season, and now have a firm grasp of first place in the NFC East.
Following the game, players from the team would participate in their usual media obligations, but the Eagles franchise quarterback would be featured on SportsCenter following the gutsy win. Hurts was seen rocking sunglasses indoors with the kind of swagger only a first-place QB can pull off, joined host Scott Van Pelt for a live segment. The typically reserved leader decided to switch gears and have a little fun with the moment.
As a stat flashed on the screen showing Hurts second in the league for rushing touchdowns—just behind Baltimore’s Derrick Henry—the former Alabama and Oklahoma star leaned into the moment with a playful jab. Scott Van Pelt having the allegiance to Washington D.C. would be hard for anyone to resist taking a shot there, so I totally get it.

“Hey Scott, how are you feeling? You’re a DMV guy, huh,” Hurts said.
In what was an absolutely hilarious moment, Van Pelt had to turn and look away with a slight smirk and look of disgust on his face. Which is totally understandable given these circumstances. I’m sure like all of us who were up tuning into all this post game coverage, this jab by Jalen Hurts came as a total surprise.
“Is this what we’re gonna do?” SVP said.
“I’m OK, we’ll see you down here in a little bit.”
Obviously a few more words were exchanged between the two, and Van Pelt was clearly referring to the December 22nd matchup between the two. Nonetheless, my favorite part of this entire interview was at the very end when Jalen Hurts goes, “I Like DC”, with a massive grin on his face.
