Schefter’s report doesn’t indicate whether this is a long-term move or not, but it’s safe to assume Daniel Jones won’t be in New York next year.

This move shouldn’t surprise anyone. In fact, it was long overdue. The franchise paid Jones $160M following the 2022 campaign, a season in which Jones led the team to a 9-6-1 record and passed for just 15 touchdowns. Evidently, that sold the organization on him, and paved the way for Saquon Barkley walking to join the Eagles.

Since signing the contract, Jones has been one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL. In the 16 games he’s played in since signing, Jones has thrown 10 touchdowns to 13 interceptions with a QB rating of 76.6.

The best organizations in the NFL feast on the bad ones. One team’s mistake is often another team’s golden ticket. The Eagles have beaten the Giants handedly on the field for years now. With their $160M quarterback now heading to the bench, it’s pretty obvious the Eagles beat the Giants off the field as well.

It’s a bad day to be a Giants fan. Which in turn is a great day for Eagles fans.
