Salt on the Wound: Former Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz trolls them on social media following their 34-10 loss to the Texans

Dalton Schultz made sure his old team, and their obnoxious fanbase felt the sting of Monday Night’s embarrassment. The Houston Texans tight end played his part in dismantling the Dallas Cowboys with a 34-10 beatdown in their own house, AT&T Stadium, or “Jerry’s World”. While Schultz may have only racked up for catches for 33 yards, the real highlight came after the game.

On Tuesday morning, Schultz took to social media to rub salt in the Cowboys’ wounds. He posted a video pouring milk into tow cups of black coffee, with the caption, “The Houston Texans are the best team in Texas!” Absolutely savage.

As an Eagles fan, I really got a kick out of this one. Schultz obviously spent a few years with the Cowboys, where he became a quality tight end in this league, but luckily he escaped to Houston, which features the far better NFL team in Texas. Aside from playing for a better organization, it must be nice to play with a real quarterback in CJ Stroud, and a real head coach in DeMeco Ryans.

Dalton Schultz spent the first five seasons of his career as a Dallas Cowboy, and to say he delivered would be an understatement. From 2020 to 2022, the former fourth-round pick racked up 198 catches, 2,000 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns—numbers that made him one of the league’s more reliable tight ends. But in classic Cowboys fashion, they decided to move on, letting Schultz walk in free agency ahead of the 2023 season. Big mistake.

Sure, this wasn’t a textbook “revenge game,” but beating your old team is always sweet—especially when they’ve plummeted to a miserable 3-7 without Dak Prescott. Meanwhile, Schultz and the Texans are rolling at 7-4, staking their claim as the best team in Texas. And honestly? It’s not even close.

The Cowboys clearly have a lot of issues that go way beyond the tight end position, but I get great enjoyment seeing them struggle in just about anyway possible. My favorite has been all those dumbass fans that paraded around social media this offseason when the Eagles signed Kellen Moore to be their offensive coordinator. They claimed he was “no good”. Boy, do they look real stupid right now.
