Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley achieved something that hasn’t been done since 1977 in Eagles win vs. Rams

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley broke the franchise single-game rushing record in Sunday night’s victory over the Rams, but he also achieved another milestone.

In Week 11 vs. Washington, Barkley recorded 198 scrimmage yards. Last night in LA, Barkley added another 302 (!) scrimmage yards.

In doing so, Barkley became the first NFL player to have 500+ scrimmage yards over a two-game span since Hall of Famer Walter Payton in 1977, per Opta Stats.

Barkley’s Week 12 performance has put him in the NFL MVP conversation along with leading candidate Josh Allen and reigning MVP Lamar Jackson.

Barkley also surpassed 1,500 scrimmage yards on the season, officially claiming a $250,000 incentive within his contract. Another $250,000 will be earned when he hits 2,000 scrimmage yards.

The former Giant has already eclipsed his career-high rushing total for a season and is just 713 yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson’s single-season record with six games remaining.

The chase is on.
