Giants John Mara Plane Banner

‘Fix This Dumpster Fire’ – Giants fans are flying banners over MetLife Stadium and Malik Nabers wants everyone to know that he didn’t pay for it

Thanks to a blocked field goal as time expired, the New Orleans Saints (5-8) hung on to beat the New York Giants 14-11 to keep their playoff hopes alive at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

The Giants’ (2-11) playoff hopes and really, entire season ended weeks ago, and they found another way to lose as they extended their skid to eight games, one shy of the matching the team record.

At this point, the only reason for Giants’ fans to be content with the outcome would be the fact that their football team is tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the top draft position heading into Week 15.

Unfortunately, even that is not enough for Giants fans, who paid for a plane to fly over MetLife Stadium with a banner that stated “MR. MARA ENOUGH – PLZ FIX THIS DUMPSTER FIRE” for everyone tailgating before the game to see.

GIANTS FANS: “MR. MARA ENOUGH – PLZ FIX THIS DUMPSTER FIRE”

Obviously, John Mara SUCKS as an owner. I’m shocked that Giants fans actually called him “Mr. Mara” like he’s some benevolent elder statesman. He’s not and clearly fans are so lost that they failed to realize calling him literally anything but “Mr. Mara” would have been a better message since he’s the guy responsible for turning the Giants into a perennial dumpster fire.

John Mara hasn’t and will not fix anything. All he knows how to do is promote his buddies, his family, and yes-men who say “great idea, John” while the franchise burns to the ground. Need proof? He’s the guy who hired Dave Gettleman and a carousel of uninspired head coaches that got the organization into this mess to begin with.

It’s been a decade of irrelevance, and at some point, you stop blaming the GMs, the players, or the bad hires and point the finger at the one constant which would be, you guessed it, John Mara.

Sure, flying banners over MetLife is a fun way to embarrass Mara. But let’s be honest—it’s too polite. Asking nicely for him to “fix” the Giants is like asking a toddler to assemble an IKEA cabinet. He doesn’t have the tools, the vision, or the competence to make it happen.

In my humble opinion, a banner with Giant (pun intended) block letters that reads “JOHN MARA, YOU’RE THE PROBLEM” would have worked better. Fly it during halftime. Fly it during practice. Fly it during his commute. Do whatever it takes, but stop pretending this man is capable of turning the franchise around while he’s given you a million reasons that show otherwise.

Another Year, Same Rock Bottom for the New York Giants:

Giants fans are in hell—again.

  • Another year of looking at mock drafts by midseason.
  • Another year of doing mental gymnastics to figure out how to land the No. 1 overall pick.
  • Another year of watching fans abandon MetLife while we pretend there’s hope.

Fans are staring down yet another offseason where nothing will change because the person in charge doesn’t know how to fix his football team. As for the only players worth a damn on the Giants roster, well, they didn’t exactly deliver a vote of confidence following yesterday’s loss and instead, wanted to immediately make it known that they didn’t pay for the plane or banner.

Malik Nabers Didn’t Buy the Plane … Or Did He?

Gotta be honest, that response from Malik Nabers sounds exactly like what someone would say if they paid for plane and banner, right?

Look, I’m not saying he did it, but the denial just makes it funnier. It’s like the first rule of lying: if you immediately say, “I didn’t do it,” everyone assumes you did it. And honestly? I’d applaud him if he did.

Can you blame him? Malik Nabers got drafted into a circus. No quarterback, no competent leadership, and a season that was over before October.

If Nabers (or Dexter Lawrence, Andrew Thomas, or Dru Phillips) wants to chip in for a bigger plane with a meaner message, I think any Giants fan would fully endorse it.

The Giants are breaking Malik Nabers

The fact that Nabers is already denying banner-buying allegations before he’s even been here a year says it all. The Giants are breaking him, week by week. But hey, at least the tank is fully on. Someone should tell Nabers the strategy now is to lose as many games as possible for draft positioning that will ideally save his career.

Maybe if the Giants land the No. 1 pick and don’t completely screw it up, Nabers won’t need another plane. But as long as John Mara’s in charge, I’m not holding my breath.
