Eagles WR AJ Brown addresses rumored fracture in relationship with QB Jalen Hurts

Despite winning nine straight games, it’s been an exhausting week for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Following last week’s win vs. Carolina, WR A.J. Brown voiced his frustration with the passing offense after Jalen Hurts threw for just 108 yards.

The national media took that comment and ran with it, taking Brown’s comments as shade towards Hurts.

During his weekly show on SportsRadio 94WIP, Eagles edge-rusher Brandon Graham threw gasoline into the fire, stating, “they [Brown and Hurts] used to be friends, but things have changed.”

Graham has since retracted his comments.

“I made a mistake and I assumed that it was something that it wasn’t,” Graham said. “I just want to win so bad that I don’t just want to use the media when we need to talk about something and we can fix the problem ourselves. I didn’t add to it in a good light, so that’s my bad.

Brown addressed the media on Wednesday to clear the air about his relationship with Hurts.

“BG was just being BG,” Brown said at his locker Wednesday. “He’s emotional. In that case, he just misspoke. Me and Jalen are good.”

“I think that’s what the world did. They perceived what I said about passing and felt like it was an attack on Jalen, and that’s what [Graham] did. Me and Jalen’s relationship is personal.”

Brown went on to explaining his “passing” comment that stirred up controversy.

“When he asked the question, what the offense can do better, obviously it’s not running the ball,” Brown said. “[Saquon Barkley is] about to win MVP. Like literally. So what else can we do as an offense?

We have to pass the ball. That can go into a protection, that can be picking up a block, that can go to us getting open, being on the same page, Jalen’s reads, whatever the case may be. It’s a collect group of things. I think people was just thinking that way.”

Jalen Hurts echoed the same sentiment during his press conference today.

“We’re good. We’re good. BG knows he spoke out of place. He knows that.

“Sometimes things change as dynamics change. For him [Brown], he knows I have a lot of love for him just like I got a lot of love for all these guys. Ultimately, he’s a guy that’s a competitor. He wants to win, he damn sure wants the ball, and he wants to make an impact in the game, and I respect that.”

Hurts and Brown have a longstanding friendship dating back to well before they were teammates. It’ll take everyone getting on the same page if they hope to improve the passing game ahead of the postseason.

“I told everybody to just dominate their box,” Hurts said. “Everyone, including myself. That’s what it’s about. I don’t want to get lost in the sauce of everything else when the main thing is to come out here, go through prep, do what we need to do and go out there and play.”
