Over the past month or so, Travis Hunter and his fiancé, Leanna, have been under the social media microscope. Not a place you want to be in — especially if you’re a high profile athlete like Hunter.

For those who haven’t seen it, social media has been over analyzing every move Hunter’s soon-to-be wife has made when interacting with him. From how she greets him after games, to how she acted during the Heisman Trophy ceremony, everything she’s been caught on camera doing has been talked about ad nauseum.

What people have seen from the handful of clips with Hunter and his girl is only a fraction of what their relationship may or may not be like. It’s truly impossible to draw any conclusions based on it, but of course, people did.

The overwhelming narrative that people have run with is that this Leanna character is a terrible person and Travis Hunter has to leave her before it’s too late. They say she’s only in it for the money, she doesn’t actually love him, truly some of the wildest conclusions you could come to, people have done it.

It all came to a head this past weekend at the Heisman ceremony, where people once again over analyzed her every move. Following the ceremony, Hunter responded to the constant criticism while on stream, before Leanna decided to respond herself with this eight-minute long TikTok video going through everything.

That’s a pretty long video, so I’m not going to do a play-by-play of it. You can watch it if you want.

Long story short, she says that basically every narrative about her online is false or over exaggerated and she’s not some insidious person leaching onto Travis Hunter for his stardom. And you know what, I actually believe her. In today’s day and age, I know that may seem hard to believe, but it’s true — I don’t think she’s a bad person.

The fact that so many people obsessed over this whole thing is kind of pathetic. Hunter said it in his response and I’m going to echo it here — just get a life. Go touch grass, for the love of God. Obsessing over another man’s relationship is just strange to me.

There’s simply no reason for anyone to care this much about Travis Hunter and how his girlfriend acts when in public. It’s not like she beats him or has already stolen money from him. She just needs a bit more PR training and she’ll be fine. Find something better to do with your free time, this stuff is just weird.
