Mike Trout Eagles Steelers Fight Darius Slay

According to Darius Slay, Mike Trout was ready to fight the entire Pittsburgh Steelers offense in the end zone last Sunday

There aren’t many bigger Eagles fans in the sports world than Angels outfielder and Millville, NJ native Mike Trout. The guy bleeds green. He’s not just your casual fan showing up for a playoff game to shake some hands and kiss some babies—Trout is all in.

Darius Slay revealed on his podcast Thursday morning that Trout texted him after the Steelers game last weekend, saying he was ready to jump the rail and throw down during that end-zone melee.

As you probably know already, Mike Trout has season tickets in the VIP section, and while no videos have surfaced of Trout during the chaos, he’s usually at all the December home games.

On Sunday, Trout was apparently ready to scrap alongside Slay, Jalen Carter, and the rest of the defense.

The fight itself had plenty of highlights. Quinyon Mitchell looked like he wanted every ounce of smoke, and the guy who shoved Slay into the wall suddenly remembered he had somewhere else to be when Jalen Carter came flying over like a heat-seeking missile.

That’s the Vic Fangio influence in full display—this defense has each other’s back, no matter what.

Back to Mike Trout. It’s time, Mike. Come home.

It’s been talked about for years, but let’s say it louder for the people in the back: Mike Trout needs to come home and play for the Philadelphia Phillies.

This isn’t just wishful thinking—it’s something that should’ve happened a long time ago. Trout isn’t just a Philly guy; he’s the Philly guy. He eats, sleeps, and breathes Philadelphia sports, and putting him in red pinstripes has always been the no-brainer move.

Don’t listen to the “internet general managers” who want to tell you why it’s impossible or why the contract is too big to take on. There’s always a way. If Sleepy Dave Dombrowski can wake himself up, grab some coffee, pick up the phone, AND REALIZE THE HOT STOVE IS BURNING this can still happen.

Make the call, figure out the money, and let’s bring Mike Trout back where he belongs.

Fishing for Trout? The Angels are interested in Alec Bohm, How a Mike Trout trade could actually work for the Phillies

Mike Trout is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. The Phillies should be interested and can make the money work. The thought here is that Los Angeles might finally be done trying to build around Mike Trout and will now be willing to eat a massive chunk of his remaining contract.

Trout signed a 12-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Angels worth $426.5 million in March 2019. The Phillies already have a projected $275 million payroll in 2025, so getting Trout’s salary off the books in the first year would be crucial.

The idea would be to start picking up his tab in 2026, once JT Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber’s deals are done.

If the Angels are willing to do that, Trout could be a legitimate target—especially considering the Phillies had to pinch-hit for their outfielders six times in a four-game postseason meltdown.

Trout’s love for Philly is unmatched. He’s not just sitting courtside at Sixers games for the cameras. He’s a season-ticket-holding, rain-or-shine, die-hard Eagles fan who’s ready to jump the rail if Darius Slay gets shoved into a wall (which, again, almost happened last weekend). And don’t get me started on how much fun it would be to have a player who loves the city as much as the fans love their teams. Trout gets us. And we get him.

The Phillies need a right-handed bat, and Trout checks every box. Sure, there’s the massive contract to work out, but let’s be honest, when has money ever stopped a big market team from getting what it needs?

You think John Middleton isn’t ready to roll out the red carpet for a guy who grew up an hour away and whose swing was built for Citizens Bank Park? That’s the kind of move that sets this team up for another deep October run.

Imagine Trout hitting behind Bryce Harper in the lineup. Imagine Trout running down balls in center field while the CBP crowd belts out High Hopes. Imagine the pure chaos of the city when The Kid from Millville finally comes home.

It’s the kind of story that would become Philly sports legend overnight.

So let’s stop overthinking this. Somebody wake up Dombrowski and get Trout on the horn. Whatever the Angels want, figure it out. The time is now. Mike Trout belongs in Philadelphia, and this city deserves to see him in red pinstripes where he’s always been meant to be.

Make it happen.
