The NBA is a JOKE: Joel Embiid ejected after horrible officiating in game against Mr. Softie Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs

Monday night’s game between the Sixers and Spurs was supposed to be a showcase—a heavyweight clash between Joel Embiid and Victor Wembanyama.

The reigning MVP vs. the league’s most hyped rising star. A chance for Wemby to show he’s ready to hang with the big boys after getting torched for 70 points by Embiid last season.

And for about a quarter and a half, it delivered. Both players were trading buckets and showing why this matchup was must-watch TV.

But then, like clockwork, the NBA officiating crew stepped in and ruined everything.

Victor Wembanyama’s Flop Fest

Let’s talk about Wemby for a second. Ultra-talented? Sure. A generational prospect? Maybe. But tough? Not even close. Victor Wembanyama folds faster than the French in WWII.

The defining moment of this game wasn’t a thunderous dunk or a jaw-dropping block. It was Wemby unleashing one of the worst flops I’ve ever seen.

A gentle nudge from Andre Drummond sent Wemby flailing to the floor like a stunt double in a bad action movie. The refs, somehow fooled by this Oscar-worthy performance, slapped Drummond with a technical foul and ejected him.

After a 10-minute review at the monitors, the officiating crew realized their mistake and rescinded the ejection. But the damage was done. The rhythm of the game was gone, and the Sixers’ momentum took a hit.

Joel Embiid somehow gets tossed…?

Things went from bad to worse when Embiid got called for an offensive foul while driving into Wemby—aka the “soft Frenchman.” Embiid didn’t take kindly to the whistle, voiced his frustration to referee Jenna Schroeder, and got ejected for his troubles.

That was the breaking point. The moment Embiid was tossed, I turned off the TV and asked myself the same question every die-hard fan should be asking: Why do we even bother watching this league anymore?

If France ever wants to shake the “soft” label, they’re going to need someone better than Wemby to plead their case. Watching him flop and plead to the refs isn’t exactly rewriting the narrative.

But let’s not let the NBA off the hook here. The officiating in this game was a joke. Between Wemby’s flop, the Drummond debacle, and Joel Embiid’s ejection, it felt like the refs were more interested in becoming the story than letting the players decide the game.

The Sixers lost their MVP, the fans lost a competitive game, and the NBA lost credibility—again. If you’re upset reading this, maybe it’s because you’re part of the reason the league is in this mess.

For everyone else, keep the faith. The Sixers and Joel Embiid will bounce back. Wemby might’ve gotten the win tonight, but come playoff time, he’s going to fold under pressure—just like always.
