Lonnie Walker IV drawing interest from the Sixers? Yes, Please
Lonnie Walker IV – The Sixers need bodies. It’s as simple as that. Jared McCain is out indefinitely, Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson are old enough to remember the Declaration of Independence being signed, and the bench is looking thinner than the Sixers’ staying healthy for the rest of the season.

So yeah, adding Lonnie Walker IV sounds like a great idea.
Lonnie Walker IV isn’t coming in as a savior, obviously, but he’s exactly the kind of player who could thrive in the Sixers’ current situation. At 26, he’s still young enough to bring energy and athleticism, two things this team desperately needs off the bench. Here’s what he could bring to the table:
- Microwave Scoring: Walker’s ability to heat up quickly makes him a solid candidate to bolster the second unit. He’s not a lights-out shooter, but he’s capable of providing a spark.
- Athleticism: Have you seen this guy dunk? Walker’s vertical explosiveness is something the Sixers’ bench could use, especially with the current rotation feeling a bit sluggish.
- Guard Depth: Let’s face it—the Sixers are one rolled ankle away from running Paul Reed as a backup point guard. Walker gives the backcourt some much-needed reinforcement.
Plus, Joel Embiid tends to make life easier for anyone willing to cut to the basket or spot up for an open jumper. (Look at Kelly Oubre Jr.) Walker could absolutely feast playing alongside the reigning MVP. On top of that, he already dunked on the entire Philadelphia 76ers team. Check this dude out…lol
Lonnie Walker IV Dunks on the Entire Philadelphia 76ers Team:
The Sixers’ bench is already feeling the strain:
- Jared McCain’s Absence: Losing McCain for the season was a gut punch. The rookie guard was expected to provide energy and fresh legs, but now the Sixers have to make do without him.
- Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson: Look, they’re serviceable veterans, but neither is exactly spry these days. You can count on them for leadership and the occasional big moment, but you can’t run them into the ground.
The Sixers are thin on depth and need reinforcements. Lonnie Walker IV isn’t a cure-all, but he’s a low-risk, high-reward option who fits the team’s needs.
With McCain out and the bench relying on aging veterans, Walker is younger and can offer better scoring, and athleticism.
“Bring Lonnie Walker IV Home..”
Walker is from Reading, PA, which isn’t quite Philly but close enough for this to be a homecoming and I’m willing to chalk it up as some extra motivation to join the 76ers and provide something to the bench unit.
Looking for a chance to prove he belongs in the NBA? This is a perfect opportunity. The Sixers need what he brings, and he’d get plenty of chances to showcase his game.
Not that Josh Harris or Daryl Morey are even paying attention these days, but the Sixers can’t afford to be picky right now.
If the opportunity to bring in Walker presents itself, they need to jump on it. Depth wins games, and right now, Philly doesn’t have nearly enough of it. Let’s get this done.
