Roster Moves: Eagles open practice window for TE Dallas Goedert ahead of playoffs

The Eagles are getting their top tight end back just in time for the postseason.

Philadelphia announced Wednesday that TE Dallas Goedert has been designated for return from injured reserve.

Goedert sustained a knee injury last month during the victory against the Baltimore Ravens and was subsequently placed on IR.

Through nine games this season, Goedert has recorded 38 receptions for 441 yards, averaging 11.6 yards per catch, and has found the end zone twice.

Goedert delivered a standout performance in Week 3 against the Saints, hauling in ten passes for 170 yards — the highest single-game total for an Eagles tight end since Pete Retzlaff in 1965.

Since assuming the full-time role in 2021, Goedert ranks sixth in receiving yards (2,565) and third in yards per reception (12.3) among NFL tight ends.

During Goedert’s absence, Grant Calcaterra stepped up admirably as the starting tight end. Calcaterra has set personal bests this year with 22 receptions, 288 yards, and a touchdown, logging 743 snaps (68%) this year.

His highlight play came in Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, where he made an impressive one-handed 34-yard grab on third down.
