Eagles roster move hints toward Jalen Hurts’ return for playoffs
The Eagles gave us a sign for the looming return of Jalen Hurts heading into the playoffs.
Philadelphia announced they waived QB Ian Book on Tuesday afternoon, hinting that the Eagles expect their other three quarterbacks — Hurts, Kenny Pickett, and Tanner Mckee — to be available for Sunday’s Wild Card game against Green Bay.

(That’s as good of a hint as anything they’d say re: Jalen Hurts’ expected status this week.)
Book was signed to the Eagles’ practice squad after Hurts suffered his concussion and was the emergency third QB in each of the last two games.
Hurts has been in concussion protocol since Dec. 22 when he left the Week 16 matchup vs. Washington in the first quarter.
The last steps of protocol involve non-contact football activities/drills before clearance for practice. With most starters not playing last week, Hurts was likely unable to participate in these steps because he was resting.
We’ll see if Hurts takes the field during the Eagles’ next practice on Wednesday.
