Eagles should consider plucking veteran linebacker from Detroit Lions’ practice squad

The Philadelphia Eagles are facing a significant challenge following the loss of linebacker Nakobe Dean, who sustained a torn patellar tendon during the second quarter of the Eagles’ 22-10 wild-card victory over the Green Bay Packers.

This injury sidelines Dean for the remainder of the playoffs and potentially into the next season. Dean had been a cornerstone of the Birds’ defense, recording a breakout season with 128 tackles, four passes defensed, and three sacks in 15 starts.

Alexander, a 30-year-old linebacker with a solid NFL resume, has played for multiple teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Over his career, he has accumulated 581 total tackles, 13.5 sacks, 9 interceptions, and 34 pass deflections.

How Alexander could impact the Eagles

Alexander’s experience and proven track record could provide immediate support to the Eagles’ defense.
