Is Kellen Moore Sabotaging the Eagles While Eyeing the Cowboys’ Head Coach Job?

Look, I totally understand if the title of this blog has you ripping your hair out. But, let’s not act like 94.1 WIP hasn’t created wild narratives before that got this town talking. With that said, as I was scrolling X this morning, my boss Drew Smith tweeted out his displeasure for Eagles OC Kellen Moore’s offense.

One question for Kellen Moore today: Why is it so difficult to run an offense with Hurts, Saquon, Goedert, Smitty, and AJ?

Which is a totally fair concern. Much of this fanbase was upset with the way Jalen Hurts performed on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. While he didn’t turn the ball over, he seemed very, very conservative in the passing game, and even had a stretch of seven straight incompletions.

However, thanks to the many wonderful people who have access to the All-22 tape, we are able to get more information and specifics about what really happened on Sunday. And after further review, I am pissed off with Kellen Moore, who frankly needs to do a much better job calling plays and game-planning.

Kellen Moore needs to simplify the Eagles offense

Final thoughts on the offense before I move on to defensive film later this morning:

What really stands out to me in that wonderful breakdown by Shane there, is the final line. “For the 2nd year in a row Hurts is being given some of the most difficult throws in the NFL and making the most of it. It’ time for the offensive design to step up and do its part.”

What are we doing here Kellen?

Look, I get it, this offensive line is a force, and Saquon Barkley damn near ran away with the MVP this season. However, that doesn’t mean the passing game should be so damn complicated. If anything, the marriage between the two should be easy right? It can’t be that hard to get Jalen Hurts, quick and easy throws to two of the best wide receivers in the game. Not to mention a healthy Dallas Goedert returned to this unit.

I know this a wild theory, but we just found out yesterday that the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones are parting ways with Mike McCarthy. So, what if Kellen Moore is taking a backseat or even sabotaging the Eagles until he accepts the job with Dallas? Think about it.

Why would Kellen lock in and give the Eagles his best efforts when he is just going to take the promotion with their arch rival?

Maybe I’m just an idiot and losing my mind. But honestly, it’s fair to think the way that I am because I’ve never seen so much talent in an Eagles offense in my life, and we apparently hired some offensive guru this offseason in Kellen Moore. It really can’t be that hard to get this offense rolling.

I feel like I’m a seesaw teetering between being rational and insane here. There’s like a small part of me in the back of my head that wonders, what if Kellen Moore is pulling an Al Horford here?

Perhaps Kellen Moore took this job to get paid for one year and eventually go back to where he feel is home. The worst part about this is, this relates to both the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics. What a sick turn of events right?

Either way, this team just has way too much talent on offense to not be a top five unit every single season. And honestly, this season proved Kellen Moore may just be another guy. Or maybe I am losing my mind and he will come back next year and with a second offseason with this team, we will light the NFL world on fire next year. Regardless the Eagles have a Super Bowl to win right now.

Why “A win is a win” doesn’t apply here

I get it, a win is always a win. But I’m thinking long-term here; if this Eagles team is going to go on a long postseason run and win the Super Bowl, this passing game needs fixed. How do you go an entire playoff game at home, and look at the boxscore, and AJ Brown has only one reception for 10 yards?

You can say whatever you want about Hurts, but in my opinion it’s the offensive coordinator’s job to get that figured out. And while a large portion of this blog was me suggesting an insane theory, what isn’t insane is the fact that it’s actually Kellen and not Jalen, who’s hurting this passing game.
