Report: Eagles’ injured stars expected to play in NFC Championship Game

After suffering injuries in the Divisional Round win over the Rams, QB Jalen Hurts and CB Quinyon Mitchell are expected to play on Sunday.

According to 6ABC’s Jason Dumas, both of Philadelphia’s stars will battle through their ailments to be available for the NFC Championship Game vs. Washington.

Hurts got folded up right before halftime on a sack and had his left ankle trapped underneath his body. He didn’t miss a snap but his mobility was visibly limited.

“I was able to finish the game and we’ll see how the week goes,” Hurts said afterward. “Just seeing how the week will go. Seeing how things progress.”

Mitchell exited Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury after playing just nine snaps.

In the locker room following the victory, Mitchell assured the Inquirer he’s “feeling good” and expects to play against the Commanders.

Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports added that the Eagles remain “hopeful and optimistic” about Mitchell’s availability for the game.

The importance of each player cannot be understated.

Jalen Hurts is tied with Patrick Mahomes for most consecutive playoff games (six) without an interception.

Quinyon Mitchell will be needed to contain Washington’s top receiver, Terry McLaurin.

The Eagles have scheduled a walkthrough on Wednesday and will release their first estimated injury report of the week.
