Alshon Jeffery says Tom Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bundchen congratulated him and the Eagles on Super Bowl LII win over her husband
Alshon Jeffery shared an interesting story during an appearance on Johnny Manziel’s podcast Glory Daze about an interaction with Tom Brady’s wife at the time, Gisele Bündchen.
Jeffery stated that Bündchen congratulated Eagles on their Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots.
“After all the interviews, the craziest part is I run into Gisele afterward, and she said, ‘Congratulations.’ I’m like, ‘Oh shoot.’ I didn’t really know what to say so I just said, ‘Thank you!’”
The moment stood out to Jeffery, and it’s easy to see why.
Bündchen was married to Tom Brady at the time, and in my humble opinion, Brady was on the losing end of one of the most thrilling Super Bowls in NFL history.
A new wrinkle to Tom Brady hating Nick Foles?
Tom Brady’s apparent grudge against Nick Foles has been a hot topic for years. From the infamous no-handshake snub after Super Bowl LII to their icy postgame interactions, it’s clear that losing to Foles in the biggest game of the year stings for the GOAT.
But maybe the real reason Brady harbors so much resentment is something else entirely: Gisele Bündchen congratulating Alshon Jeffery and the Eagles for beating her husband in Super Bowl LII.
Alshon Jeffery & Johnny Manziel On Eagles Super Bowl Win:
Brady throws for 505 yards and three touchdowns in Super Bowl LII, only to watch Nick Foles and the Eagles’ underdog squad lift the Lombardi Trophy.
That alone would be hard to swallow. But then, imagine your wife, the queen of supermodels, approaches one of the Eagles’ key players to say, “Congratulations.”
Talk about salt in the wound.
Alshon Jeffery: Legend On and Off the Field
Alshon Jeffery didn’t just play a huge role in that Eagles win—he also gave us one of the most iconic pregame interviews ever.
Legendary.
That’s the type of swagger that makes Philly fans fall in love with you instantly. And if the cherry on top is making Brady’s life just a little more miserable, well, that’s even better.
Now, does Brady really hold a grudge against Jeffery or Gisele for the postgame congrats? Probably not. But it’s hilarious to imagine that it’s one more thing he remembers when thinking about Foles and that Eagles team. Losing to an underdog is bad enough. Losing and having your wife congratulate the other team? Brutal.
I don’t think it’s even a question anymore. The Nick Foles grudge runs deep.
Maybe it’s because Foles caught a touchdown on the Philly Special while Brady couldn’t haul in a pass earlier in the game? Or maybe it’s because Foles didn’t need five rings or MVP trophies to out-duel him on the biggest stage.
Either way, Foles and that 2017 Eagles team live rent-free in Brady’s head—and we love it.
Alshon Jeffery didn’t just help Philly win their first Super Bowl; he left a lasting legacy with that game. Between his big plays, iconic quotes, and this nugget about Gisele, Jeffery remains an all-time fan favorite in Eagles history.
