250 Years in the Making: Eagles must stop the Chiefs dynasty and rising empire at all costs
Depending where you’re from, rooting for the Eagles in the upcoming Super Bowl may feel taboo — something you’ve sworn to never do, no matter the circumstances. For those who fall under that umbrella, I’m sorry, but you simply have no choice.
We get it, you don’t like us (and we don’t care), but the Kansas City Chiefs empire is on the precipice of doing the unthinkable. The most unlikable team in the NFL could win their third Super Bowl in a row. For the sake of football and the pure beauty of the sport, this cannot happen, and it won’t happen if the Eagles and the great city of Philadelphia has anything to say about it.
It’s been 250 years since the city of Philadelphia stood as the epicenter of American defiance, rallying the colonies to push back against the British Empire. In 1776, they signed the Declaration of Independence here, declaring that tyrants could no longer rule unchecked. Now, in 2025, the great people of the United States look to Philadelphia once again—not to stop redcoats, but to take down another rising power: the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty.
Why Not the Eagles?
Just like our forefathers, the Eagles find themselves staring down an empire in the making. Patrick Mahomes is football’s King George III, and Andy Reid is leading the charge like a gridiron general. The Chiefs stand one Super Bowl away from making history as the first NFL team to win three in a row, and frankly, Philadelphia is having none of it.
The Chiefs’ dominance must be stopped. And if there’s any city built for the job, it’s Philadelphia. After all, this city has made a career out of toppling dynasties.
When the Eagles faced the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX back in 2004, they came up short against Tom Brady and his seemingly invincible empire. But, in true Philadelphia fashion, they clawed their way back 13 years later, and the city celebrated as Nick Foles and the Birds stunned New England in Super Bowl LII.
The narrative is familiar: just like Rocky Balboa losing to Apollo Creed in “Rocky I” but delivering a knockout blow in “Rocky II,” the Eagles thrive in a rematch. They’ve been here before, and history tells us the city of Philadelphia doesn’t bow to the same dynasty twice.
Except, you know, when it comes to the Flyers and the Oilers. We don’t talk about that.

Philadelphia’s New Independence Day
This isn’t just about a football game. This is about defending the future of the NFL itself. If the Chiefs win their third straight Super Bowl, what’s next? Mahomes with a powdered wig? Arrowhead Stadium becoming the new Buckingham Palace? No, thank you.
Philadelphia is no stranger to saving the day when the stakes are high. When tyranny looms too large—whether in 1776 or on the football field in 2025—you can always count on this city to show up. The Eagles are our modern-day Minutemen, and February 9th is their battlefield.
So, as the rest of America cheers from the sidelines, the Eagles prepare to go to war. The Chiefs may have Patrick Mahomes and a nearly unstoppable offense, but Philadelphia has something far stronger: a city united by a refusal to be second-best.
Philadelphia doesn’t just win championships; it wins hearts, minds, and the respect of everyone who thought they could stand in its way.
It’s time for the Eagles to do what they were born to do: stop a dynasty and remind the world why Philadelphia is the birthplace of patriotism. After all, we’ve already done it once — why not do it again?
