Jalen Hurts Shuts Down Media-Driven Drama Over His Comment About Nick Sirianni

Jalen Hurts had to clear the air this week after a comment he made after the NFC Championship got twisted into something it wasn’t.

After punching their ticket to the Super Bowl, Hurts was asked about his head coach, Nick Sirianni, and had nothing but good things to say. But then he dropped a line about Sirianni “letting me out of my straitjacket” during the game, and naturally, some people decided to stir the pot and read way too much into it.

Media Stirring the Pot Again? Shocking.

Let’s be real—this is Philly. If there was actual beef, we’d know. That’s just how we are as a fanbase. Hurts isn’t the type to air out drama, and Sirianni definitely isn’t afraid to speak his mind. But the media had to turn this into some hidden message of discontent instead of what it actually was: a dude talking about ball after an emotional win.

On Friday, Hurts was asked about that comment, and he clarified that he had just been joking around to the pot stirrers.

Jalen Hurts on his “strait jacket” comment

Hurts made the “straitjacket” comment with a smirk. You think if there was real beef, he’d be throwing out cryptic one-liners instead of just handling business like he always does? Come on. This dude is locked in, Sirianni is locked in, and the only people forcing this storyline are the ones who don’t get how things actually work in Philadelphia.

This narrative is dead. Bury it.

Find a new narrative. This one’s cooked. Burnt to a crisp. Left in the oven overnight. The only people still trying to serve it up are the same lazy reporters who parachute into Philly once a month, skim a few headlines, and pretend they know what’s going on. These are the same folks who swore Sirianni was on the hot seat five minutes into his tenure and tried to push the idea that Hurts wasn’t a franchise QB even after he damn near won MVP. They don’t watch this team, they don’t get this city, and they sure as hell don’t understand the relationship between Hurts and Sirianni.

Eagles fans actually paying attention know what’s up. This is a coach who trusts his QB, and a QB who will run through a brick wall for his coach. End of discussion.

Speaking of running through a brick wall,

between Jalen Hurts saying “that’s what the f**ck I do”, after throwing a touchdown pass and Jordan Mailata’s (Bane) impersonation, I think I too will run through a wall.

While we’re at it, since the media coverage in this city really doesn’t look after this wonderful fanbase, I will do the honors of welcoming you aboard. We here at TheLibertyLine, recently launched some brand new merch, which includes a pretty sick Jordan Mailata (Bane) t-shirt.

There’s one more team standing in the Eagles way, and it’s those damn Kansas City Chiefs. Even with Jalen Hurts playing the game of his life we still fell short of the goal two years ago. But, that doesn’t matter now, as we have a better team, coaching staff, and culture.

We don’t have that rat Jonathan Gannon anymore; the upgrade at defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio has turned the defense into the strong suit of the team arguably.

It’s only a matter of time till the Birds do one of the following: break the Chiefs spirits, or their body’s.
