Jalen Carter fined $17,445 for slapping Tyler Biadasz in NFC Championship Game
It turns out Jalen Carter’s biggest hit of the NFC Championship Game didn’t even show up in the box score—it showed up on his bank statement.
During the 55-23 beatdown of the Washington Commanders, Carter took exception to Tyler Biadasz making contact with his facemask in the fourth quarter and responded with an open-handed slap.
The refs missed it, but the NFL didn’t.
Jalen Carter got slapped by the NFL, with a $17,445 fine for the incident, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Carter’s still on his rookie contract, making $2.7 million in his second season, so while this fine won’t financially ruin him, it’s also not exactly chump change at this stage of his career.
The Impact Beyond the Box Score
On paper, Carter had just two tackles in the NFC Championship, a relatively quiet day by his standards. But anyone actually watching the game knows the numbers don’t tell the whole story. He’s the kind of player who disrupts everything, forcing QBs into bad throws, collapsing the pocket, and blowing up run plays—even when he’s not the one making the tackle.
And most of the time, he does fill up the stat sheet, too.
Looking Ahead to the Super Bowl LIX
Carter will now have a chance to make a bigger impact on an even bigger stage in Super Bowl LIX. And if he’s going to get fined again, he’ll probably want it to be for sacking Patrick Mahomes, not throwing hands.
