Jimmy Butler getting traded to the Warriors means it’s Kevin Durant or bust for the Sixers
Welp. Another star is off the board, and once again, the Sixers—and more importantly, Daryl Morey—are standing in the corner at the high school dance waiting too long to make a move. This has become the norm under Morey, and now that Jimmy Butler is officially a Warrior, the Sixers’ already slim path to title contention just got even thinner.
While it was definitely fun in dreaming of a reunion with Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler was never coming back to Philly. That bridge was torched the second he left in 2019. But him landing in Golden State? That stings. He’s now playing alongside Steph Curry instead of carrying the entire Miami offense while Bam Adebayo sets screens and prays for the best.
So, where does that leave the Sixers?
Staring directly at Kevin Durant.

The Sixers Needs Another Star – And KD is the Only One That Makes Sense
When fully healthy, the Sixers are a solid team. Tyrese Maxey has taken yet another leap, and Joel Embiid can still play at an MVP level when needed. But this team is lacking a proven championship winner—someone who can take the pressure off of Embiid in the biggest moments.
KD checks every single box:
- An all-time scorer who thrives in the postseason
- A proven champion who doesn’t shy away from the moment
- A lethal shooter who fits perfectly alongside Embiid and Maxey
- A player who can carry the load when Embiid inevitably misses time
The Sixers don’t just need another star—they need the right star.
And after years of false hopes and wasted seasons, Durant is that guy.
No More Sitting on Your Hands, Morey – It’s Now or Never
With Phoenix striking out on Jimmy Butler, all eyes remain on the Suns’ front office as KD trade rumors heat up.
Morey and the Sixers have been waiting for their moment. They let the Harden situation drag out, they held onto their assets, and they kept their financial flexibility. But now?
It’s time to cash in.
The Butler-to-Warriors trade just made it crystal clear—there are no more excuses.
The Sixers have the pieces to make a serious offer. They can match salaries, they have draft picks, and they have young players that Phoenix would value.
If Morey doesn’t go all-in here, then what was the point of waiting?
Time to RECRUIT KD to the Sixers🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Complete The Process – KD is the Missing Piece
Joel Embiid has been recruiting Kevin Durant for years. Dating all the way back to 2016, Embiid was trying to get KD to Philly. Now? It’s finally realistic.
Look, we’ve already been burned by stars who weren’t fully committed:
- James Harden bolted the second things didn’t go his way
- Ben Simmons completely checked out when it mattered most
This team cannot afford another wasted year banking on guys who fold when the lights are brightest.
KD is the opposite of that. He’s a proven champion, a big-game killer, and a scorer who doesn’t need Embiid to carry him. Unlike Paul George, who disappears in big moments, Durant takes over games when it matters most.
This is the type of move that could bring a completely checked-out fanbase back in.
KD or Another Year of the Same Old Sixers?
It’s really that simple. The Sixers can go get Kevin Durant and completely change their championship outlook…
Or, we can run it back, get bounced in the second round, and convince ourselves that “maybe next year” is the year.
I’ve been doing that since I was born in ’99. Enough is enough.
