Key Eagles dealing with illness ahead of Super Bowl LIX vs. Chiefs
The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly dealing with flu-like symptoms as they prepare for Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, Eagles star DT Jalen Carter is battling an illness that has kept him from his media obligations the last two days.
Carter was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday’s injury report.
Emerging pass-rusher Nolan Smith caught the bug last weekend, per O.J. Spivey.
I was going to interview Nolan Smith in the locker room on Saturday. However, he was wearing a mask and simply said, “You don’t want what I have.” https://t.co/10u1AJzCTf

The impact of Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith on Philly’s defense cannot be understated.
Carter had essentially the game-winning sack on Matthew Stafford in the divisional round while Smith leads the team in sacks with 4.5, most as an Eagle in a single postseason.
Hook those two up to every IV in New Orleans. Philadelphia will need Carter and Smith at full strength if they hope to stop Kansas City from achieving the historic three-peat.
