Eagles bolster defensive line in PFF’s post-Super Bowl Mock Draft

Believe it or not, we’re already in Eagles Mock Draft Szn. When you win the Super Bowl, the offseason starts almost immediately, and Pro Football Focus is already hard at work putting together their mocks.

In their first mock since Super Bowl LIX, they have the Eagles taking pass rusher Nic Scourton from Texas A&M.

PFF on this Eagles potential selection:

This is an Eagles type of defensive lineman. Scourton has the size to play anywhere from 3-technique to wide-7 along the defensive line. He wasn’t as productive in 2024, but he is a smart defensive lineman who already showed a deep pass-rush bag this past year and during his previous season at Purdue. Philadelphia could also lose multiple defensive linemen this offseason.

Going defensive line in the first-round is the obvious choice for the Eagles. They could lose multiple defensive lineman this offseason and are always looking to bolster their front-seven. Adding another young pass rusher to this group just feels right, especially coming off their historic performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. Why wouldn’t you want to continue to invest here?

Scourton, who transferred from Purdue for the 2024 season, followed up his 10-sack 2023 campaign with five sacks in the SEC, showcasing his ability to make impact plays against top competition.

At 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, Scourton boasts a powerful frame that allows him to overwhelm offensive linemen in both the run and pass game. His strong hands and ability to control the line of scrimmage make him a force against the run, while his speed-to-power conversion, spin move, and hand counters give him multiple ways to win as a pass rusher.

The key to Scourton’s development at the next level will be refining his pass-rush approach. While his brute strength is effective, improving his angles and counter moves could elevate his sack production. With his versatility to play both EDGE and interior defensive line, Scourton would bring a valuable skill set to Philadelphia’s defensive front.
