Eagles hold formal meeting with Florida DT Cam Jackson at NFL Scouting Combine
The Eagles have officially met with Florida defensive tackle Cam Jackson, as confirmed by a recent report from The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler. With the NFL Scouting Combine in full swing, Philadelphia’s interest in the towering defensive lineman signals a potential move to bolster the depth of their defensive front.
Eagles Exploring Defensive Line Options
It’s no surprise that the Eagles are exploring interior defensive line prospects as the offseason gains momentum. General manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni are expected to address the media from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where the combine is being held. On-field drills for defensive linemen and linebackers kick off Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, broadcast live on the NFL Network.
Among the many prospects to watch, Cam Jackson stands out — literally — with his imposing 6-foot-6, 339-pound frame. That size is reminiscent of current Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis, though Jackson remains a raw prospect compared to the more polished Davis. The Eagles face a significant decision this offseason regarding Davis’ fifth-year option, which would cost an estimated $11 million for the 2025 season.
While it’s too early to speculate on the Eagles’ draft plans, Jackson presents an intriguing alternative if they choose to address nose tackle depth more economically. His college production was modest, and he’s not considered a pass-rushing threat — traits that likely push him into late Day 2 or Day 3 draft consideration.
NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein highlighted Jackson’s strengths and limitations, noting, “(He) is a complete non-factor as a rusher, so his spot on a draft board will be relative to a team’s willingness to take a two-down player in need of polish. He’s long and plays with extremely heavy hands and an ability to overwhelm single blockers at times.”

Insurance Behind Jordan Davis
Even if the Eagles pick up Davis’ option, they currently lack a true backup nose tackle — a role Jackson could potentially fill while developing under defensive line coach Clint Hurtt. With Davis still improving as a pass rusher and working toward becoming a three-down force, adding Jackson could provide valuable depth and future flexibility.
While Jackson’s name may not dominate first-round conversations, his size, strength, and potential fit within the Eagles’ defensive scheme make him a prospect worth monitoring as the draft process unfolds.
