Hang the Banners: Paul George will suspend podcasting, confirms he will save the Philadelphia 76ers season
Hang the banners, folks. The Sixers’ season has been saved. Paul George has heroically decided to step away from his famed Podcast P alter-ego, in an effort to get his body right and focus on basketball.
This was announced on February 26, 2025.
This breaking news comes as the Sixers sit 17 games below .500, riding an eight-game losing streak, and looking up at the playoff picture like it’s a speck in the distance.

“I want to let the Podcast P family know that after today’s episode with Dwight, I plan to take a break from the pod just to focus on getting my body right, getting mentally right, and, you know, help this squad make a push towards our goal to finish the season out and give ourselves a chance to be in contention to compete for a championship.”
Paul George. My brother in Christ, what championship are we talking about?
Did Paul George get traded? Championship talk in relation to Philadelphia 76ers basketball? This year? In this city? Basketball?
I’m honestly in shock. I have no idea where this is coming from but something tells me that Paul George is roughly 37 games too late on making this statement.
Paul George obviously didn’t just wake up and decide basketball should be his priority.
No, what actually happened is that the Eagles’ season ended, and suddenly, the bright, burning spotlight of Philly sports rage turned its attention back to the disaster that is the 2024-25 Sixers.
For months, this team skated by unnoticed while the city focused on Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni’s collapse, and whether the Birds could make another Super Bowl run.
But now? People are watching. And they do not like what they see.
That’s why Paul George suddenly has the urge to “lock in.”
Not when he put up two points in 37 minutes against the Nets in a four-point loss. Not when the Sixers were getting curb-stomped by teams with G-League rosters. Not when he signed a $211 million contract and immediately missed the start of the season. Nope. Now that the season is effectively over, he’s decided that podcasting might not be his main priority anymore.
“Podcast P Family” Must Be In Shambles
If you listen closely, you can hear the Podcast P Family weeping in the distance. What will they do now? How will they survive without Paul George talking hoops while actively refusing to play good basketball? Tragic. Absolutely tragic.
But fear not, Philly. PG is here to lead this squad back to relevance—right after Embiid gets two new knees and the Sixers try to convince people to pay more than $2 for a ticket to watch this mess.
Mamba Mentality… But Podcasting
Post from February 7th…
Paul George putting down the mic isn’t about saving the Sixers’ season. It’s about saving face. The pressure is real now. The fans are mad, the media is asking questions, and people are realizing this team is a complete joke.
This isn’t Mamba Mentality. This is “oh shit, people are watching” mentality.
Better late than never, I guess? (Not Really)
