Pat McAfee goes full heel after scumbag Canadian fans boo the United States National Anthem at WWE Elimination Chamber

Another night, another Canadian crowd booing the American national anthem—this time at WWE’s Elimination Chamber in Toronto. And Pat McAfee was not about to let it slide.

As American singer Elizabeth Irving performed The Star-Spangled Banner at the Rogers Centre, the Toronto crowd made their feelings known, showering the anthem in boos.

Pat McAfee, never one to back down from a little crowd interaction, immediately fired back.

“These are the most stacked Elimination Chambers that the WWE has ever had. Kind of sucks that it’s in the terrible country of Canada, that booed our national anthem to start this entire thing!” McAfee shouted as he stood up out of his seat.

The moment fit McAfee’s heel persona perfectly, but let’s be real—he wasn’t playing a character. He was genuinely annoyed and rightfully so.

A Growing Trend of United States National Anthem Boos in Canada

The WWE event wasn’t the first time Canadian fans have turned on The Star-Spangled Banner recently. During the 4 Nations Face-Off hockey tournament, American players were booed relentlessly, and a Canadian anthem singer sparked controversy with a “bold” rendition before the U.S.-Canada championship game.

And now, with President Trump back in office, it seems like Canadian sports fans are making a point of voicing their displeasure any time the U.S. anthem plays which cannot be tolerated.

Good on Pat McAfee who knows that and refused to sit quietly.
