Mike Florio Eagles Chiefs Analysis

Mike Florio gives revolutionary analysis of Eagles Super Bowl LIX win, says Chiefs were ‘in the game’ before they were no longer in the game

Mike Florio is out here giving us some real groundbreaking analysis about the Super Bowl—basically saying that before the game got completely out of hand, it wasn’t out of hand yet. Revolutionary stuff.

Mike Florio is a GENIUS

To be fair, I get Mike Florio’s point he was trying to make. The Chiefs were technically in the game for about a quarter and a half, and maybe if Andy Reid had actually committed to running the ball instead of abandoning it almost immediately, things could have been different. But that’s not exactly some galaxy-brain insight.

Let’s call it what it is—Kansas City got obliterated because they went punt, punt, punt, pick-six, punt, interception before even thinking about scoring points. Meanwhile, the Eagles defense was absolutely suffocating them, holding KC to a grand total of one first down through the first five drives.

Yeah, I guess in theory the game could have “gone either way” early, but that would have required the Chiefs to do anything positive on offense before they were in an insurmountable hole.

Then there’s Mike Florio’s track record.

This is the same guy who’s been obsessed with trying to call out Lane Johnson for years, constantly complaining about his get-off. This is also the same guy who went on a crusade to accuse the Eagles of tampering with Saquon Barkley over what amounted to… a completely normal free agency process? It’s almost like he just loves finding reasons to whine about the Eagles.

If Florio had stopped at “Andy Reid probably should’ve run the ball more” instead of trying to make it sound like the Chiefs were on the verge of something before the avalanche hit, this wouldn’t even be a conversation. Instead, it just feels like another weirdly selective attempt to paint KC as more competitive than they actually were.

The reality? The Eagles defense owned them. KC didn’t just get away from the run—they got completely outclassed.
