WATCH: Darius Slay reveals he wants to return to Eagles this offseason

Every time Darius Slay is cut by the Eagles or is on the verge of leaving, he always seems to find his way back here. It looks like that same scenario might play out again this offseason.

Last week, the Eagles released Slay with a post-June 1 designation, freeing up about $4M in cap space. Since then, we’ve heard reports that he might actually come back to play out his final year here in Philly.

On Wednesday, Slay basically said he’ll be back with the Eagles next season, just as long as the money is right.

Darius Slay: “If the money is equal, and everything is equal… it’s Philly fasho.”

Something tells me Slay will be back, it just makes too much sense for both sides. Slay is entering the final year of his career, so there’s no sense in starting fresh somewhere else. The Eagles are really solid at corner even without Slay, but having him around is still huge for the locker room and he’s proven he can still play at a high level.

Given how the team is treating their own players this offseason — giving Saquon a huge extension, resigning Zack Baun — I don’t see why they wouldn’t give Darius Slay the same treatment.
